Charges have been filed against Joshua Weibley, a 39-year-old from Newport, Pennsylvania, for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Perry County last December. Weibley faces felony charges, including homicide by vehicle and accidents involving death or personal injury, as well as 10 other vehicle violation charges.

The incident took place on December 22, 2025, when Weibley allegedly struck and killed 40-year-old Christina Pearl along Narrows Road near Royer Road in Miller Township. According to charging documents, Weibley reported a body or deer on the roadside to the police but was not present when officers arrived. The next day, Weibley turned himself in, and authorities discovered his silver Ford F-150 with front-end damage at his home.

Weibley explained to troopers that he was "straddling" the yellow line when he hit Pearl, who was "a foot off to oncoming traffic." He admitted to stopping but did not see her moving before leaving the scene. The vehicle was recently purchased and not inspected, as required by Pennsylvania law. Troopers found several hazardous issues with the truck, including rust holes and a cut above the fuel tank.

Weibley is currently held in Perry County Prison with bail set at $250,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21.
