Emergency departments across the Midstate are mourning the loss of Kevin Brehm, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, who died while on duty Thursday (April 9) in York County, Pennsylvania. Brehm, a dedicated member of the Dover Area Ambulance Club, had been involved in emergency services since his teenage years, serving with Northeast Adams Fire and EMS.
The Dover Area Ambulance Club expressed their grief, stating, "Our hearts are broken and we aren’t whole without him." Brehm was remembered as a mentor to fellow EMTs and a lifesaver who dedicated countless hours to training and service. His passing prompted a procession of emergency vehicles from WellSpan York Hospital, where first responders lined up to pay their respects.
Northeast Adams Fire and EMS highlighted Brehm's impact, noting that he had saved many lives over the years. The cause of his death has not been made public, and funeral arrangements will be announced later. As the community mourns, the legacy of Brehm's service and mentorship continues to be celebrated.
