A Harrisburg, Pennsylvania man already facing charges for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old girl in 2024 is now confronting a new set of serious child sex crime charges, court documents show.
According to PennLive, Harrisburg police on Monday (March 24) charged I Marr Finley, 25, with rape, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, corruption of a minor, and unlawful contact with a minor. The new charges stem from an assault on a teenage girl that investigators say Finley carried out after luring her through the social media app Snapchat.
Lured by a Fake Identity
Court documents say the victim first added Finley as a friend on Snapchat when she was around 13 or 14 years old. During their online conversations, Finley told her he was 16 years old. He later sent her a photo, but police say it was not actually a picture of him — a fact the girl would only discover when she arrived at his home.
The victim agreed to meet Finley at his residence on the 2700 block of Reel Street. As reported by ABC27, when Finley opened the back door, the girl immediately said "Oh hell no," realizing the man in front of her was not the person in the photo.
Assault at Gunpoint
Police say Finley grabbed the girl's arm and jacket and pulled her inside, then rushed her upstairs and locked his bedroom door. When she refused to remove her clothing, court documents say Finley said, "Where is my gun?" before placing a firearm on his dresser. Finley then raped the girl, police said. According to the charging documents, Finley repeatedly asked the victim to state her age during the assault, telling her he found it sexually gratifying. Afterward, he told her "Sorry" and let her leave.
The girl was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center on Wednesday (March 3), and that interview was later reviewed by Harrisburg police.
A Familiar Room, a Prior Case
According to Yahoo News, investigators recognized the victim's description of Finley's bedroom because the same officer who filed Monday's charges had also charged Finley in a separate child rape case in 2024.
In that case, on Tuesday (November 25, 2024), Finley — dressed in all black and wearing a mask — allegedly approached a 12-year-old girl who was walking home from school. He offered her money for sex, and when she refused, he forced her to follow him to his home. Once inside, he called out to see if his mother was home, then took the girl upstairs and raped her. Afterward, he blindfolded her, led her out the back door, and threatened to kill her family members if she told anyone. When police came to serve a warrant in that case, Finley attempted to escape by running across rooftops before he was caught and taken into custody.
What Comes Next
Finley remains held at Dauphin County Prison with bail denied. A preliminary hearing on the new charges is scheduled for Wednesday (April 8), and a plea hearing in the 2024 case is set for Thursday (April 23).
