The Philadelphia Eagles have added wide receiver depth, agreeing to terms with Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on a one-year contract worth up to $6.5 million, multiple reports confirmed Tuesday (March 17).

According to USA Today, Fox Sports insider Jordan Schultz was first to report the signing. Brown, who turns 29 in June, fills the third receiver spot left open by Jahan Dotson, who departed for the Atlanta Falcons in free agency.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound speedster enters his eighth NFL season after spending the last two years with the Kansas City Chiefs. Last season, as confirmed by The Philadelphia Inquirer via Lancaster Online, Brown hauled in 49 catches for 587 yards and five touchdowns — good for second on the Chiefs in receiving yards behind only Travis Kelce. He played 16 games and worked out of both the slot and wide positions.

Brown is Philadelphia's fourth different team since he was selected No. 25 overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2019 NFL Draft. He previously played for the Ravens (2019–21) and Arizona Cardinals (2022–23) before joining Kansas City. His best season came in 2021 with Baltimore, when he recorded 91 catches for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns — his only 1,000-yard campaign.

Durability has been a concern. Brown missed almost all of the 2024 season with a shoulder injury but has been reliable when healthy, dropping just two passes in the regular season and postseason combined since 2024, according to The Sporting News via Yahoo Sports.

In Philadelphia, Brown slots in behind star receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, joining a depth chart that also includes Darius Cooper and Johnny Wilson. He also faced the Eagles firsthand in Super Bowl LIX, catching two passes for 15 yards on 41 snaps.

The signing carries added significance given ongoing trade rumors surrounding A.J. Brown. Should the Eagles eventually move the three-time Pro Bowler, Hollywood Brown would likely step into the No. 2 receiver role opposite Smith. However, as USA Today has reported, a trade before June 1 would saddle Philadelphia with a significant dead-cap charge, making any deal unlikely until after that date.

The 2026 NFL Draft is also on the horizon, and the Eagles could use an early pick on a wide receiver — a move that could further reshape the depth chart heading into training camp.
