Severe Storm Rips Roof Off York County, Pennsylvania Barn

A powerful storm tore the roof off a barn in York County, Pennsylvania on Monday (March 16), leaving behind a scene of significant structural damage with no injuries reported.

CBS21 reports, the roof of a barn in North Codorus Township collapsed during a bout of heavy rain and strong winds that swept through the Susquehanna Valley. Wooden beams could be seen poking out of the top of the damaged structure following the storm. The top of a nearby silo was also blown off during the severe weather.

A tenant told CBS21 the barn was unoccupied at the time of the collapse, and nobody was hurt.

CBS21 tracked storm damage throughout the region as the severe weather moved through. The Susquehanna Valley was hit with heavy rain, severe thunderstorms, and gusty winds throughout the day.

Additional storm damage from Monday's severe weather across the Susquehanna Valley has been documented, and photos and videos of the widespread damage are available for viewing.

No injuries were reported in connection with the barn collapse. Authorities have not yet announced a damage assessment or a timeline for any cleanup or repair efforts.
