Steelton Blaze Displaces Eight, Three Homes Lost

A two-alarm fire tore through a Steelton neighborhood Tuesday (March 3) evening, destroying three homes and leaving eight people without a place to stay in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.

According to CBS 21, firefighters were called to the 400 block of North Second Street just after 7:30 p.m. When crews arrived, they found a duplex with flames shooting from the back of the structure. The fire quickly spread to a neighboring home, ultimately consuming three properties in total.

Gene Vance III, chief of the Steelton Fire Company, confirmed that all three homes involved in the blaze were considered a complete loss. Everyone inside the homes managed to get out safely, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. The Dauphin County Fire Investigative Team responded to the scene and is working alongside the Steelton Police Department and the Steelton Fire Department to investigate what started the blaze.

The eight people displaced by the fire will need to find alternative housing as the investigation continues.
