A third teenager is now in custody in connection with a shooting at a Lancaster Township apartment complex that sent bullets flying through a parking lot and into an occupied home earlier this month.
Lancaster Township Police announced Monday (February 23) that Keziah Foster, 17, was arrested and charged as an adult in connection with the February 10 shooting at the Hawthorne Gardens Apartment Complex on Dickens Drive. The charges come roughly two weeks after two other teens were first taken into custody.
The shooting took place around 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday (February 10), when surveillance cameras captured someone firing from a stolen Kia Soul toward a person in the complex's parking lot. Three people then got out of the vehicle and continued shooting, firing between 10 and 20 rounds. The shots struck multiple vehicles and an occupied apartment, and one bullet passed dangerously close to a resident inside the building. No injuries were reported.
Police spotted the stolen Kia — reported stolen the day before the shooting — a short time later in the area of Stone Mill Road. Officers pursued the vehicle on foot and arrested two juvenile suspects: Nahkell Brown, 16, and Terrance Mitchell, 16. A firearm consistent with the caliber used in the shooting was recovered near where they were caught.
Foster, however, escaped at the time. Following his arrest Monday (February 23), detectives also recovered a second gun believed to have been used in the shooting.
According to Lancaster Township Detective George Carlson, Foster is being charged as a co-conspirator. Brown and Mitchell were previously charged with aggravated assault, five counts of reckless endangerment, shooting into an occupied structure, and weapons violations. All three teens are being charged as adults.
All three are currently housed at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center, Carlson said. Court documents for Foster's charges were not yet available as of Monday (February 23).
