Three minors are facing charges after fleeing from a stolen vehicle and injuring a Pennsylvania State Police trooper during a traffic stop in Harrisburg last month.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of South 21st Street in Harrisburg around 1:20 p.m. on January 20, 2026.

When officers approached the vehicle, three juvenile males attempted to flee on foot. Two of the minors were quickly apprehended, with one found to be carrying a firearm, authorities said.

The third juvenile was pursued by a member of the Pennsylvania State Police Incident Reaction Team (IRT). Police reports indicate that when the trooper caught up with the suspect, the interaction turned physical, resulting in injuries to the officer. Despite the altercation, the third juvenile was successfully taken into custody.

State police confirmed that juvenile allegations have been filed against all three suspects. Due to their status as minors, their identities have not been released to the public.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about vehicle theft and juvenile crime in the Dauphin County area. Authorities have not released details about the trooper's condition or the specific charges filed against the juveniles.
