A suspect in the 2018 fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Lebanon, Pennsylvania has been apprehended after evading authorities for more than seven years.
U.S. Marshals arrested **Jaden Pagan** in New York City's Bronx borough on Wednesday (January 29). Pagan, who was 15 at the time of the homicide, had been living under a false identity since fleeing Pennsylvania, according to local reports.
The case stems from an October 27, 2018 incident that involved both a shooting and a subsequent car crash. Lebanon City Police charged Pagan with criminal homicide in November 2021, but he had already fled the state.
Authorities allege that Pagan and another teen, **Jaedyn Gaines**, attempted to rob the victim during a marijuana purchase. The encounter turned violent, resulting in the victim being shot in the chest. After being shot, the victim accelerated in his vehicle, crashed into parked cars, and overturned near Arnold Street.
"The marshal's work was excellent in locating and safely arresting a violent criminal who evaded justice for far too long," said Lebanon County District Attorney **Pier Hess Graf** in a statement following the arrest.
Gaines, who was 17 when charged in 2021, has already pleaded guilty to homicide and is awaiting sentencing. Court documents indicate that Gaines shot the victim during a struggle while Pagan was also involved in the planned robbery.
Pagan now awaits extradition to Pennsylvania to face multiple charges including homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, and robbery.
