>>Person Rescued After Tree Falls On Home

In Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, high winds on Wednesday night (November 5) caused a tree to crash into a home on North Deodate Road, trapping a resident on the second floor. The Londonderry Fire Company responded to the scene in Conewago Township, where the tree had destroyed the interior staircase, making it impossible for the person to exit safely.

Firefighters used a ladder and tools to rescue the individual, who was unharmed in the incident. According to CBS 21, the storm caused widespread damage across south-central Pennsylvania, leaving thousands without power and resulting in numerous emergency calls for downed trees and wires.

The Londonderry Fire Company reported that their crews continued to respond to various storm-related emergencies throughout the night. In addition to the incident on North Deodate Road, other areas in Dauphin County, such as Schoolhouse and Roundtop roads, were blocked by fallen trees and utility poles.

Meteorologist Steve Knight noted that while the wind advisory expired on Wednesday, gusts over 20 mph were still expected on Thursday, according to  CBS 21. The incident highlights the importance of staying informed about weather conditions and being prepared for sudden changes.
