The Justice Department has announced that Brian D. Miller has been appointed as the new U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Attorney General Pam Bondi made the appointment earlier this week. Miller will serve as the chief prosecutor for the district, which includes the city of Williamsport, on an interim basis until he receives Senate confirmation.

Miller has a notable background in government service. Earlier this year, he served as the Acting General Counsel of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. In 2020, he was the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery under President Donald Trump’s administration. His experience in these roles has prepared him for his new responsibilities as U.S. Attorney.

This appointment is part of the Justice Department's ongoing efforts to ensure effective leadership in key positions across the country. The confirmation process by the Senate will determine Miller's permanent status in the role.
