Springettsbury Township Police Warn of Crypto Scam Texts

Springettsbury Township Police in York County, Pennsylvania, have issued a warning to residents about a scam involving text messages sent from the township's event notification system. The messages, which falsely promote "crypto-trading" opportunities, urge recipients to invest immediately.

According to Local 21 News, the scam messages are not affiliated with the township or its police department. The police have confirmed that these messages are fraudulent and are advising residents not to respond or click on any links provided.

The police department is collaborating with their IT team to address and resolve the breach in the notification system. As reported by FOX43, residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious messages to the authorities.
