Authorities suspect multiple shooters were involved in a shooting at Lincoln University in Chester County, Pennsylvania, during a homecoming event on Saturday night (October 25). The incident resulted in the death of Jujuan Jeffers, 25, from Wilmington, Delaware, and injured six others, all aged between 20 and 25. The Chester County District Attorney, Chris de Barrena-Sarobe, stated that the shooting, which occurred outside the International Cultural Center, was not believed to be a planned mass casualty event.
One suspect, Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, has been arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license. He is being held on $25,000 cash bail, but authorities have not confirmed if his weapon was used in the shooting. Investigators are reviewing video footage and seeking additional evidence from the public.
The university, a historically Black institution, has canceled classes for Monday and is providing counseling services to students and staff. A healing and reflection event is scheduled for noon on Monday. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro expressed his support and offered assistance to the university and local officials.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALLFBI. The investigation continues as authorities work to identify all involved in the shooting.
