Steelton Officials Update on Mini-Mart Shooting Case

Steelton Police Chief William Shaub and Mayor Ciera Dent provided an update on the murder of Kenyatta Henry, a 26-year-old man who was shot on the steps of a mini-mart on October 7. The update was shared during a borough council meeting on Monday (October 20).

According to Local 21 News, Henry was found dead on the front steps of the Phoenix Mini-Market on 4th Street in Harrisburg. His brother, Nakeem McGraw, was also injured in the shooting but survived. The police arrested 23-year-old Quadir Rameau on October 13 in connection to the murder. Rameau surrendered to authorities in the Allentown area.

FOX43 reported that Rameau was charged with first-degree homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and several firearm-related charges. Surveillance footage and shell casings found at the scene helped identify Rameau as the shooter. Police also found ammunition matching the shell casings in Rameau's bedroom.

During the investigation, nearby buildings in the Steelton-Highspire School District were placed on lockdown as a precaution. The police chief emphasized the importance of community cooperation in solving such cases and encouraged residents to remain vigilant.
