>>Investigation Continues Into Wild Lancaster County Crash

Authorities in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, are investigating a dramatic crash that occurred on Monday (October 13) morning in Columbia Borough. A vehicle became airborne and landed on top of power lines after striking a home on North Third Street. The crash happened around 11:38 a.m., and the driver, a woman, was hospitalized with minor injuries and has since been released, according to CBS 21 News.

The Columbia Borough Police Department stated that both rain and speed were contributing factors to the crash. Witnesses also suggested that the driver may have experienced a medical emergency at the time of the accident. More details are expected to be released on Friday.

The scene of the crash, near Cedar Street and just south of Route 30, saw significant damage, with the car ending up nose down and dangling from wires. Photos from the scene show a sheared-off pole, and the Columbia Borough Fire Department has urged the public to avoid the area while first responders and utility crews work to secure the site, as reported by CBS 21 News.

Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, PPL reported no power outages as a result. The investigation into the exact cause of the crash continues, and authorities are working to determine whether the medical emergency played a significant role.
