Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting in York, Pennsylvania

A man is in custody following a fatal shooting in York, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday (October 1). Romanus Myers V, 24, is accused of shooting a 31-year-old man near East Princess and Pattison Streets shortly after 8 a.m. The victim was taken to WellSpan York Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

According to WGAL, police arrived at the scene after receiving a call about a shooting. Upon arrival, Myers reportedly admitted to shooting the victim. The York County Coroner's office confirmed the victim's death at the hospital around 10 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday (October 3) at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.

The investigation revealed that Myers and the victim were involved in a physical altercation before the shooting. A neighbor's security camera captured the aftermath, showing the victim seeking help after being shot. Neighbors expressed concern over the violence and called for increased police presence in the area.

Myers is scheduled to be arraigned at York County Prison. The incident remains under investigation, and police have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. More details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
