Fallen Officers Honored by Chief Lash

Family, friends, and law enforcement officers gathered in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, on Thursday (September 25) to honor three Northern York County Regional police officers who died in the line of duty. Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, Detective Mark Baker, and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser were remembered for their dedication and service during a eulogy delivered by Chief David Lash.

Chief Lash highlighted their achievements and commitment to family, faith, and community. He described them as "gentle" and "kind," noting their ability to face evil while maintaining compassion and honor. The officers were killed last week during an ambush while attempting to arrest a stalking suspect, Matthew James Ruth, who also died in the incident.

Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, 39, was a resident of Spring Grove and had served the force for 16 years. He was remembered as a hero, not only by his colleagues but also by his family, including his wife and two children. A public memorial for Becker will be held Sunday at Spring Grove High School.

Detective Mark Baker, 53, from Dover, was a computer forensics specialist and a U.S. Army veteran. Known for his humor and compassion, Baker leaves behind a wife and four children. His daughter, Rebecca, described him as "courageous, fearless, kind, and compassionate."

Detective Isaiah Emenheiser, 43, of York, was known for his dedication to policing and his love for family and community. He had a distinguished career, including time with the U.S. Secret Service, and was recognized for his bravery in saving a man's life from a burning mobile home.

The officers' sacrifices serve as a solemn reminder of the risks faced by those in law enforcement. Chief Lash closed the service by saying, "Rest easy, brothers. We have the watch," promising to carry forward their legacy of service and commitment to helping others.
