A 14-year-old boy from Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, was arrested last Friday (September 12) for allegedly making terroristic threats. According to the Mount Joy Borough Police Department, the teenager sent a picture of himself holding a gun to another teen, accompanied by threatening language, via social media. The incident occurred on the 300 block of South Angle Street in Mount Joy.
According to Lancaster Crime Watch, police took the juvenile into custody, and he is now facing charges. The boy was transported to the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center following his arrest. The charge filed against him is for terroristic threats with the intent to terrorize another, as outlined under Pennsylvania law 2706(A)(1).
The Mount Joy Borough Police have not released the name of the juvenile due to his age. The case highlights ongoing concerns about the use of social media for threats and the serious legal consequences that can follow.
