In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ricardo Contreras-Cordero has pleaded guilty to charges related to a deadly crash at the Treasure Trove Toy Store. The incident, which occurred on October 6, 2024, resulted in the death of 68-year-old Eusebio Forestier, who was using a mobility scooter. Contreras-Cordero faced charges including third-degree murder, homicide by vehicle while DUI, and homicide by vehicle.
According to ABC27, Contreras-Cordero's blood-alcohol concentration was .135 at the time of the crash. He was driving at a high speed when he crashed into the toy store on Second Street, causing significant damage to the storefront. The crash also left Contreras-Cordero in critical condition.
Judge Deborah Curcillo sentenced Contreras-Cordero to five to ten years in prison for the murder charge and three to six years for the homicide by vehicle charge, as reported by Yahoo News. Additionally, he received three years of probation for the homicide by vehicle charge.
