Man Charged with Impersonating ICE Agent in Lancaster County

A man from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is facing charges after allegedly impersonating law enforcement officers, including an ICE agent, and harassing women. According to West Lampeter Township police, 26-year-old Zachary Bernhardt approached two women near Exhibit Farms Drive on Wednesday (July 23) in separate incidents. He reportedly claimed to be a park ranger to one woman and an ICE agent to another, demanding a $300 fine for walking their dogs without a leash.

Local authorities were alerted to the situation around noon after receiving reports of harassment. Bernhardt is now facing charges of impersonating a public servant. The accused is scheduled to appear in court next month to address these allegations.

The incidents have raised concerns about public safety and the need for vigilance against individuals falsely claiming authority. Residents are encouraged to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a law enforcement officer and report suspicious behavior to local authorities.
