A 19-year-old man from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, faces serious charges after allegedly recording women in a thrift store's changing room. Justin Stauffer, from Lititz, reportedly admitted to using his phone to secretly capture images and videos of women at Fashion Cents on North Reading Road. Authorities discovered 89 images and videos on his device, including footage of a child. The recordings were made over three days: January 21, 22, and 24.
According to Yahoo News, Stauffer was confronted by police on January 24 after a report of suspicious activity. He voluntarily handed over his phone, which contained the recordings in a hidden folder accessible only through face identification. The police identified five of the twelve women recorded.
Stauffer faces multiple charges, including one count of intercepting communications, twelve counts of criminal use of a communication facility, and twelve counts of invasion of privacy. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use. Ephrata Police Department charged him on February 12, and he was released on $10,000 unsecured bail. Stauffer's preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 28.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to identify any additional victims. Stauffer is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
