First Aid Beauty has recalled over 2,700 jars of its Ultra Repair Cream Coconut Vanilla due to concerns raised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall, initiated on December 23, 2024, affects 14-ounce jars with lot numbers 24D44 and 24D45, and expiration dates of April 10 and April 11, 2026. These products were mistakenly sold on First Aid Beauty's website, despite being intended for quarantine.
The FDA classified the recall as Class II, indicating that use of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects. The likelihood of serious harm is considered low. According to a report by the Washington Post, the recall was due to deviations from the FDA's Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations.
First Aid Beauty has assured customers that no other versions of the Ultra Repair Cream are affected. The company has contacted customers who purchased the affected product, offering replacements and advising them to stop using the cream immediately. Customers with concerns can reach out to First Aid Beauty at customerservice@firstaidbeauty.com or call 800-322-3619.
The recall comes at a time when the cream is popular for its moisturizing properties, especially during the cold winter months. Despite the recall, the product remains well-regarded for its efficacy in treating dry skin and conditions like eczema.
