Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has announced a $2 million investment in the Joseph Machine Company, a manufacturing firm based in York County. The investment, part of the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), will support the company's planned 150,000-square-foot expansion of its facility in Dillsburg. The expansion is expected to create 35 immediate highly-skilled jobs, with the potential for up to 150 new positions in the coming years.

The Joseph Machine Company, a leader in custom machinery manufacturing, serves industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and renewable power. The company's expansion will double its module assembly capacity and enhance its module reliability center to meet rising demand, supporting local suppliers across South Central Pennsylvania. Currently employing 119 people, the company has seen steady growth, adding 39 positions in the past year alone.

Governor Shapiro, alongside Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger, visited and toured the Joseph Machine Company, where the Governor announced the investment. "Pennsylvania companies are building the future — the folks at Joseph Machine Company are yet another example of the innovation, growth, and success happening right here in York County thanks to the hard work of highly skilled Pennsylvania workers and top of the line Pennsylvania suppliers," Shapiro said.

The investment is part of the Shapiro Administration’s broader Economic Development Strategy, aimed at revitalizing manufacturing, creating jobs, and strengthening Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness. The expansion supports dozens of Pennsylvania-based suppliers, with the Joseph Machine Company sourcing 60 percent of its materials from more than 150 Pennsylvania companies. The company’s growth will also create job opportunities among its regional supplier network and local manufacturers.
