Emon Brady, an 18-year-old from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and aggravated assault. The charges stem from an incident last year when Brady fired a 12-gauge shotgun at U.S. Marshals who were arresting another individual. Despite the close proximity of the officers, no one was injured in the shooting.
The incident occurred on November 2, 2023, on the first block of North 18th Street in Harrisburg. Brady was reportedly standing 10 to 12 feet away from four members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Dauphin County Crisis Response Team when he fired at them. A bystander identified Brady as the shooter and told police one of the bullets almost hit him, according to court documents reported by PennLive.
The officers were in the process of arresting 21-year-old Mandjou Sylla in connection to a shooting that had injured three children a few weeks prior. Brady will be eligible for parole after he spends at least 40 months in prison, according to ABC27.
