Honey Spill in Lancaster County After Tractor-Trailer Overturns

A tractor-trailer carrying honey overturned on Route 222 in Lancaster County resulting in multiple injuries and a significant road closure. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning between the Adamstown exit and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Brecknock Township.

The tractor-trailer collided with a car in the southbound lanes at around 4:25 a.m., causing the truck to flip over and spill its load of honey across the roadway. According to WGAL, two people were transported to the hospital by ambulance, although their conditions remain unknown.

The southbound lanes of Route 222 were closed at the Adamstown exit for several hours as crews worked to clean up the honey spill and clear the crash site. The road has since reopened. Photos from the scene showed the tractor-trailer flipped over onto the car.

The Pennsylvania State Police are handling the incident.
