Over 1,000 residents in Steelton experienced a power outage on Sunday night due to a blown transformer. The transformer, located near Pine Street and Orchard Drive, burst into flames, causing a significant power disruption for nearby PPL customers.
CBS 21 News reported that the outage affected neighborhoods in the vicinity of the incident. PPL, the local power company, attributed the outage to a "tripped breaker or blown fuse" resulting from the transformer fire.
Images shared online showed the transformer engulfed in flames. As of Monday morning, power has been fully restored, according to PPL's outage map. No injuries or additional property damage were reported in relation to the incident.
