Electricity rates for residential and small business customers in Pennsylvania are set to change from June 1. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has announced that all regulated electric companies in the state will be adjusting their Prices to Compare (PTCs) for non-shopping customers. The changes will result in increases or decreases in energy prices depending on the service territory.
"Empower yourself this summer by staying informed and making smart energy choices,” said PUC Chairman Stephen DeFrank. “With the upcoming price changes and higher electricity usage typical during the hot summer months, now is the perfect time to review your electric bills and supplier contracts, understand your rates, and explore all available options to save on energy costs.”
The PUC encourages consumers to visit the official electric shopping website, PAPowerSwitch.com, to compare competitive offers and find energy-saving tips. Consumers are advised not to sign a contract without knowing the length, price, whether it is fixed or variable, and if there are any fees.
The PUC also reminds families to explore energy conservation to help manage bills and reduce energy usage. More information on understanding a contract with an electric generation supplier and electric switching is available on the PAPowerSwitch website.
