Pennsylvania Lawmakers Eye New Lithium Battery Law

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania lawmakers are looking to recycle lithium batteries. State Rep. Josh Siegel is pushing a plan that would have battery manufacturers create a free, accessible recycling program. He says so many things come with lithium batteries, and they are a fire hazard if they're not disposed of properly. Siegel says he's been working on a plan since the fire back in 2022 at Penn Waste in York County that caused 36 million-dollars in damage.
