State Spending $3M To Reintroduce Northern Bobwhite Quail

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state game commission has chartered a small plane to Florida in their efforts to reintroduce the northern bobwhite quail to Pennsylvania. It's part of an over three-million-dollar push to repopulate the small birds that were once common across the commonwealth. The most recent effort released the Florida birds at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County. The game commission will also bring in quail from Ft. Knox in Kentucky and Ft. Barfoot in Virginia over the next three years to create a stable population in Pennsylvania.
