Family Tracks Stolen Luggage Using Apple AirTag

(Charlotte, NC) -- A South Carolina family got their stolen luggage back, thanks to their investment in technology. The Gavino family bought Apple AirTags the day before traveling to North Carolina the weekend before Christmas. One of their bags didn't show up after they landed in Charlotte, so they tracked it using the AirTag that links to an Apple device. They learned their bag was headed to a residential neighborhood near the airport. On Christmas Day, they made their way to the address the AirTag located and called police. Officers went into the house and found the Gavinos stolen bag, as well as one stolen from another traveler. The suspect faces a suitcase full of charges, including theft and drug possession.
