Bill on Rx Drug Prices Awaits Governor's Signature

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The State House has sent Governor Shapiro a bill that would allow seniors to keep state prescription drug coverage despite Social Security increases. The House voted earlier this week to send legislation that will allow thousands of seniors to continue receiving state prescription drug coverage despite cost-of-living increases from Social Security. When Social Security COLA increases occur, some older Pennsylvanians discover they have exceeded income eligibility thresholds and can't be covered by the programs. Thanks to the last extension in 2021, approximately 10-thousand PACE and PACENET cardholders were able to retain their benefits despite cost-of-living increases. That moratorium is set to expire December 31st.
