Recently-retired Manheim Township Police Chief Dies from Cancer

(Manheim Township, PA) -- Funeral services are pending for the recently-retired police chief in Manheim Township Police. Officials say Thomas Rudzinski passed away Thursday from cancer. He retired from the department in June after 36 years with the department. He'd received multiple honors for lifesaving and distinguished service. His colleagues say he's well-known and loved throughout the township and across Pennsylvania for his involvement in leading several police organizations as well as volunteer work. In an interview a few years ago, the chief said his goal was to make a difference for as long as possible and to improve the quality of life in the township in making it a safe place to live.
