Two Die in tanker-truck fire on PA Turnpike - Interstate Shut Down Several Hours

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Two people have been killed in a fiery crash on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. State police said the collision happened Saturday on Interstate 476 when a tanker truck rammed a car that had been slowed down by another car with a flat tire. The incident closed all lanes between the Mid-County and Lansdale exits in Montgomery County for several hours. A PA Turnpike alert was issued to tell all drivers to remain in their cars.before that, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that people were walking dogs along the shoulder and some kids were seen playing with a soccer ball. Some had reportedly also climbed over the road divider to stretch their legs.
