(Fort Worth, TX) -- American Airlines flight attendants are authorizing a strike. The Association of Professional Flight Attendants has valued overwhelmingly in favor of a work stoppage and plans to demonstrate at twelve airports. The union says members have been asking the airline for better pay and improvements to staff onboarding for years. While the union is in favor of strong, members will remain at work until the strike is approved by the National Mediation Board.

(Undated) -- Some Southwest Airlines pilots are planning on staging an informational picket today at several major airports to express frustration with contract negotiations that have dragged on for three-and-a-half years. The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association says there will be pickets at Baltimore/Washington International, Los Angeles International, Hartsfield Jackson International in Atlanta, Houston's Hobby Airport and Midway in Chicago. The union says it's been attempting to bargain with the airline in good faith and sued for federal mediation last year, but no deal has been reached. The SWAPA says Southwest can't afford to sit idly by, while every other carrier continues to reward their pilots and lure them away with better contracts and benefits.
