Ames Factory in Harrisburg to Close at End of October
(Harrisburg, PA) - A Factory operated by the AMES Companies in Harrisburg will be closing at the end of October. Nearly 60 people who worked at the plant at 1500 South Cameron Street will be losing their jobs. The company announced plans in May to shutter the facility, which makes wheelbarrows, as part of a corporate restructuring. AMES is not closing its distribution center in the Carlisle area, a leased facility that also does some light assembly.
