Residents Express Concerns over Nearby Affordable Housing Plans

(Harrisburg, PA) - Residents in Harrisburg's Penbrook neighborhood are expressing concerns about an affordable housing development planned for their area. Developers have said they plan to construct a four-story building with nearly 50 units for seniors at the site of the former Woodward Elementary School. Neighbors say they're concerned about increased traffic for the area as well as the project lowering property values and possibly increasing crime. The sale of the land to the Fernandez Realty Group is still pending approval from the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas.
