PA's Top Lawyer Supporting Effort to Ban Non-Compete Agreements
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry has joined 17 other state attorneys general in a letter to support a federal proposal to ban employee non-compete agreements. The Federal Trade Commission proposed a ban on non-competes earlier this year, saying the agreements are "often exploitative" and artificially suppress wages. As expected, business groups have voiced opposition to the ban, so litigation is likely -- if and when the FTC proposal is finalized.
