(Harrisburg, PA) -- Doug Mastriano, the conservative GOP state senator from Franklin County, is formally out of the 2024 race for U.S. Senate. Mastriano made the announcement Thursday night on Facebook and added that he will continue to be a lawmaker in Harrisburg. The path is now clear for presumed GOP candidate David McCormick to take on Democratic Senator Bob Casey next year. McCormick, who hasn't formally announced yet, is a former federal treasury official and hedge fund leader who lost the GOP primary last year to Dr. Mehmet Oz.
