Pennsylvania Population Slid Downward in 2022

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania got smaller in the past year according to the U.S. Census Bureau's recent release of its population estimates. Statewide, Pennsylvania's population is estimated to be just under 13-million people as of 2022 - that's about a 40,000 person loss from the year before. Among Pennsylvania's 67 counties, the fastest-growing one since 2020 has been Pike County, where the population grew about three-point-four percent. Cumberland County was the second-fastest. Other counties that saw growth include Adams, Chester and Northampton.
