Bill Requiring Carbon Monoxide Detectors In Child Care Centers Passes State House
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The Pennsylvania state House of Representatives has passed a bill that will require all child care centers across the state to have carbon monoxide detectors. The legislation, called House Bill 494, was created after 28 kids and four adults were taken to the hospital after a carbon monoxide leak at Happy Smiles Learning Center in Allentown last October. The bill will give businesses a year and a half to comply with detector installation. The state Senate will now need to pass the bill.
