Governor Says Giving Tax Breaks Will Help Attract New Teachers

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Governor Josh Shapiro is proposing giving new teachers tax breaks of up to 25-hundred dollars. Speaking in Philadelphia Wednesday, he says the incentive will help draw more professionals to fill what's seen as a dire need for teachers in the state. The governor also said that Republican leaders have indicated they won't appeal a recent state court decision, which found that Pennsylvania's school funding formula is unconstitutional.
