(York, PA) -- York City Police are investigating a shooting downtown Saturday afternoon. Just before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of West Market Street. The area was blocked off for hours after the incident. It's unclear if there were any injuries and it does not appear that there were any arrests in the shooting.

(York County, PA) -- A former York City Police officer is facing charges related to several incidents involving minors. Joseph A. Palmer Junior is accused of indecent assault of a victim 16-years-old or younger, corruption of a minor, and more. Palmer worked as the department's Juvenile Engagement Officer and was responsible for helping young victims and at-risk teens. He is due in court September 2nd for a preliminary hearing and bond has been set at $50,000.

(York County, PA) -- One person is dead after a York County crash Saturday. The accident happened around 4 p.m. near along U.S. 30, between Hanover and Trinity Roads in West Manchester Township. According to an accident report, there were multiple vehicles involved in the crash and several others were injured, but only one driver died. That driver has only been identified as a 37-year-old male, according to the York County Coroner who has scheduled an autopsy for later this week.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A local nonprofit is working to keep kids in the classroom this school year. Communities in Schools of Pennsylvania is a group working with eleven school districts to remove outside barriers that prevent kids from attending school regularly. The group's main focus is at-risk students who are more likely to drop out of school before high school graduation. Last year, the nonprofit worked with more than eleven-thousand students and organizers hope to impact even more in 2022-23.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Swatara Township Police are investigating a shooting at the Walmart on Grayson Road late Sunday afternoon. Just after 5:15, officers responded to the store after a report of shots fired. The shooting reportedly stemmed from an altercation between two men. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the shooter was taken into custody just before 7 p.m.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- State Police are investigating a road rage incident in Dauphin County Saturday. According to reports, 27-year-old Dalton Bechtel of Harrisburg pointed a gun at another driver along I-283. The victim called police and was able to identify Bechtel. He is now facing simple assault by physical menace and harassment charges.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The School District of Harrisburg is commenting on a recent investigation into the high school football coach. Calvin Everett was recently charged in connection to an unlicensed internet car sale operation. In a letter to the district over the weekend, Superintendent Eric Turman referred to the charges against Everett as "the most minor type of charge in Pennsylvania." Turman noted the district's investigation had concluded and that Everett, who is also the school's athletic director, will remain on staff.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The I-83 South Bridge is reopened for this morning's commute. PennDOT crews spent most of the weekend working on repairs to the bridge that basically amounted to routine maintenance. Crews were repairing expansion dams that allow the bridge to expand and contract without buckling as the temperature changes. District 8 officials said the older the bridges get, the more "TLC" they need.

(Reading, PA) -- Reading police are continuing to investigate a violent double shooting. Authorities responding to reports of a shooting Saturday afternoon at a home on Park Avenue found a 55-year-old woman wounded at the scene. As first responders tended to her, authorities say that officers were taking the suspected shooter, her boyfriend, into custody at the home. It was at that time, they add, that the man grabbed the weapon used in the initial shooting and shot himself. The man and the woman were last reported hospitalized in critical condition.

(Reading, PA) -- The suspect in a fatal Reading shooting is now in custody. Twenty-year-old Luis Cepeda-Morales was arrested Friday in Puerto Rico. He is facing murder charges in connection with killing of a man found July 31st on Spring Garden Street. Cepeda-Morales will be extradited back to Berks County.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is pledging to make a concerted effort to bring more woman onto the force. A spokesperson for the department says that they have signed on to the 30 by 30 pledge, an initiative with a goal of having women make up 30% of new police recruits by 2030. Currently, the City of Lancaster Bureau of Police show just 7.7% of its sworn officers as women. Nationwide, approximately 12% of sworn officers are women.

(Berks County, PA) -- Berks County Police are reporting results from a weekend DUI checkpoint in South Heidelberg Township. The checkpoint was operational from 9:30 p.m. Saturday night until 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning and included 850 stopped cars. From those stops, thirteen people were arrested. That includes five individuals arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, five for driving under the influence of marijuana and three others arrested for drug possession.

(Lancaster, PA) -- Wendy's restaurants have pulled lettuce used in preparing burgers and sandwiches from their kitchens in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana over concerns that it may be linked to an outbreak of E. coli. Many of the 37 people who recently contracted the bacteria report that they had consumed the lettuce that the restaurant chain uses to top its sandwiches. Wendy's says that the lettuce used in its salads comes from a different source and so those salads remain on the menu. The lettuce removal comes as the CDC continues to investigate the source of the E. coli outbreak.
