>>Woman Accused Of Stealing Pelosi's Laptop Wants Off House Arrest For Renaissance Faire

(Washington, DC) - The Dauphin County woman accused of stealing Nancy Pelosi's laptop during the riots at the U.S. Capital wants to go to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Riley Williams, who is 25, filed the request in federal court this week to get out of house arrest so that she can visit the annual event in Manheim. Williams has been on house arrest since January of last year with exceptions only for work, school, doctor's and attorney visits and court appearances.

>>Teen Hit During Gunfight With Two Men

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Police say a 16-year-old is recovering after was hit by gunfire three times as he was being chased by two men. Harrisburg police investigators say Antonio Hill Junior had chased and fired a gun at two males who later pursued him and shot him in a parking lot in the 100 block of Pine Street. He's been charged as an adult in the incident that happened Sunday. Police say he also was carrying cocaine when he was hit.

 >> Elder Abuse Team Launched to Combat Financial Exploitation

(Harrisburg, PA) --The Pennsylvania Department of Aging is launching an investigative unit that will guard against older adults being scammed. Secretary of Aging Robert Torres says the team will help area Agencies on Aging investigate financial abuse cases and obtain justice for victims. The department also recently unveiled a financial exploitation webpage that features information on warning signs and preventive measures. 

>>Price for Former Federal Building in Harrisburg Reduced

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The asking price for the former federal building in Harrisburg has been reduced by four-million-dollars. Real estate firm Marcus and Millichap now lists the 11-story office tower at $18 million. An international developer paid just over ten-million-dollars for the 56-year-old building earlier this year and unveiled a $35 million plan to convert it into luxury apartments.

(Harrisburg, PA) - The Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns are getting a taste of what it will be like to play each other this weekend. The two teams are holding joint practices Thursday and Friday at the Browns' training facility near Cleveland. The practices are closed to the public. The two teams will play in a pre-season matchup Sunday afternoon in Cleveland.

>>Harrisburg Man Hit by Truck While Stopping to Help Dog

(Centre County, PA) - A Harrisburg man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a truck when he'd stopped to help an injured dog. State Police in Lewistown say the victim, whose name has not been released, was driving on US 522-south when he struck a dog and got out of his car to move it out of the road. The driver of the truck, identified as Jamie Ross of Bellefonte, allegedly provided troopers a false name. Troopers say there also was a warrant for his arrest and he was under the influence when they took him into custody. 

>>Thousands Expected at Cultural Fest

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Promoters say some six-thousand people will be celebrating at the Dauphin County Cultural Fest this weekend. The event on City Island is returning for its 14th year Saturday, August 20th from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. County Commissioner Mike Pries says the festival lets people show their pride in the many kinds of diverse heritage that make up Dauphin County. Admission is free.

>>Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire Starts this Weekend

(Mount Hope PA) -- The next 13 weekends will see the events of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire come to life. The annual festival at the Mount Hope Estate & Winery north of Lancaster features unique entertainers, musicians, magicians, and comedy acts. Promoters also say there will be over 100 vendors in the 35-acre village that will show visitors rare art forms and crafts being made. Many different kinds of period foods will also be offered. The faire runs August 20th through October 30th.

>>Off Duty Officer Who Beat Cancer Twice Dies in Bicycle Accident

(Lancaster Co., PA) -- A veteran police officer and cancer survivor who was training for an upcoming Ironman competition has died in a bicycle crash. Lancaster Online reports that Corporal Brian Kozera, who was 44, died Saturday in Caernarvon Township. The two-time cancer survivor worked for the Norristown Police Department and was also a school resource officer. The crash was ruled an accident.

>>Investigators To Reveal New Information In 34-Year-Old Murder 

(Reading, PA) -- Berks County State police and the county district attorney say they have solved a nearly 34-year-old homicide cold case. They will hold a news conference Thursday about what they've discovered about the death of Anna Kane. Her body was found in October of 1988 in a wooded area in Perry Township. 

>>Mom Warns Others About Algae Bloom that Sickened Kids

(Reading, PA) -- Brittney Fox wants to warn other families about harmful algae blooms at Blue Marsh Lake. She says she and her young children became sick and got rashes on their legs after they'd sat in the lake's water during a recent heatwave. Fox says the state needs to do a better job of advising the public about the algae bloom alerts and advisories. The state says they place advisories of harmful algae blooms on their web pages, but the information reportedly wasn't posted on that date. 

>>Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center Opening Date Set

(Lancaster, PA) -- Penn State Health has set October 3rd as the opening day for its newest hospital. Spokesperson Barbara Schindo says the facility will be called Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center and will be located in East Hempfield Township. The new hospital joins a growing group of medical centers for Penn State Health including two facilities in Cumberland County, the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, a children's hospital in Hershey and the St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading.

>>Long-time Dairy, Petting Zoo in Oley to Close

(Oley Township, PA) -- The Oley Turnpike Dairy and Petting Zoo is closing Sunday after 52 years. Owner Eugene Moser, who is 84, and his family posted on Facebook that they're grateful for the support of loyal customers, family, and friends over the years. The post says they're finding homes for all the animals from the petting zoo, which opened in 1991, except for the goats, which will be sold. 

 >>Former Phillies Manager Gets Broadcast Job with Cubs Network

(Chicago, IL) -- Former Philadelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi will soon be joining his former team - but in the broadcast booth. Marquee Sports Network says Girardi has been hired as an analyst for the Chicago Cubs, one of his former teams. Marquee said Wednesday that Girardi will join Jon Sciambi and former big league pitcher Jim Deshaies to provide commentary for this weekend's series against Milwaukee. He also will work next month's series at Miami. The 57-year-old Girardi was the manager in Philadelphia for three years before he was fired in June.
