>City of Harrisburg Receiving Public Comments on Best Ways to Spend COVID Money
(Harrisburg, PA) -- Harrisburg leaders are discussing the best ways to spend the latest round of COVID money that'll be coming soon from the federal government. The public has until July 29th to give their input into what projects should be funded. The city has to submit its application to the state by August 1st. There's a little over $54 million available for the entire Commonwealth for the third round of money, which comes from the Community Development Block Grant - CARES program.

(East Berlin, PA) -- The mother of a 17-year-old who died Friday night from injuries sustained in a traffic accident is trying to educate people about the benefits of organ donation. Nicole Rohrbaugh tells WHTM-TV she has learned a lot about the process of donating one's organs as well as how much her son's will go toward helping so many people. Andrew Karabinos was a junior volunteer firefighter in East Berlin before he died. His mother says he was studying with friends for a test to become a U.S. Marine and crashed on the way home.

(York, PA) - Fire officials say three people have been burned out of their apartment building in York. The fire broke out a little before seven Monday night at 33 East South Way in a second-floor unit. Investigators say the fire caused about 50-thousand-dollars' worth of damage. No one was hurt; the cause of the fire is still yet to be determined.

(Philadelphia, PA) - Officials have identified the man who died last week while he was attending a concert at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Hugo Sanchez was 32. Police say he was sitting on an escalator rail Thursday when he lost his balance and fell about 40 feet to the ground. He died a short time later at a local hospital. Police say they haven't uncovered any foul play and the case is being investigated as an accident.

(Harrisburg, PA) - Republican candidate for governor Doug Mastriano is reportedly clearing out videos from his Facebook accounts. Pennlive.com reports the current lawmaker has deleted more than a dozen videos over the past few months. The news outlet says Mastriano has removed potentially problematic or controversial posts, including tweets promoting the QAnon conspiracy theory, as well as videos in which he called local faith leaders "cowards." Mastriano's state senate website reportedly has also been scrubbed of his plan to lift medical privacy restrictions so the government could disclose the names and locations of people infected with COVID-19.

(East Hempfield Township, PA) -- Investigators say they've used DNA genealogy to make an arrest in the oldest cold case in Lancaster County. District Attorney Heather Adams says the murder of 19-year-old Lindy Sue Biechler in 1975 was committed by 68-year-old David Vincent Sinopoli of East Hempfield Township. Her body was found in her apartment, and she'd been stabbed multiple times. Sinopoli is currently in custody and is being held without bail. He was arrested without incident around early Sunday morning at his home.

(Lancaster County, PA) -- A judge has ruled that a Lancaster County 16-year-old who is accused of killing her sister will be tried as an adult. Judge David Workman said in giving his ruling Monday that the juvenile system would only be able to treat Claire Miller until she is 21 and that's why he agreed with prosecutors to keep her case in the adult system. Manheim Township police say Claire Miller, who is 16 now, admitted to the stabbing death of her wheelchair-bound sister Helen in their home last year. The defense countered that Claire suffered a psychotic break.

(Lancaster, PA) -- The parents of a baby boy who lived only 111 days are trying to honor his memory with a blood drive. Adam Mansfield weighed just over a pound and a half when he was born, so small he was considered a micro-preemie. His parents hope 65 units of blood can be collected during the drive to honor the eight blood transfusions that helped him survive as long as he did. The Red Cross blood will take place Friday, August 5th at the Eden Resort and Suites in Lancaster.

(Lancaster, PA) -- County officials say cooling centers will be open for seniors across the area over the next several days. Temperatures are expected to top out at 95 with four of the next few days forecasted to hit 94. The cooling centers will be open until Friday in Lancaster County at: Columbia United Methodist Church, the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, the Lititz United Methodist Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millersville and the Next Gen Senior Center in Quarryville. Lancaster City cooling center locations include the SACA Senior Center on Pershing Avenue and the Lancaster Rec Senior Center on Fairview Avenue.

(Lancaster County) -- A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Lancaster County on Sunday has been identified by the Lancaster County coroner's office. Christopher Albert Rivera was 37 and from Lancaster. Investigators say he was the only person involved in the crash that happened about 4:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Letort Road in Manor Township. The coroner's office says an autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
