>>Skittles Sued Over Alleged Continued Chemical Toxin Use

(Oakland, CA) -- A lawsuit accuses the parent company that makes Skittles of continuing to use a chemical toxin in the popular candy. A woman in Oakland, California claimed in the lawsuit filed last Thursday that, in April, she opened a Skittles package that still contained titanium dioxide. Skittles-maker Mars Incorporated pledged in 2016 to stop using titanium dioxide and artificial colorings in its products for the next five years. The chemical is found in paints, sunscreens, plastics, and cosmetics and has long been used in candies, chewing gum, chocolates, and coffee creamers.
