>>FCC Needs $3 Billion More To Replace Chinese Equipment
(Washington, DC) -- The Federal Communication Commission says it will need more funding to remove Chinese equipment from American wireless networks. The agency told Congress it needs an additional three-billion dollars for the project. Two years ago, former President Trump signed an act that order U.S. telecoms to remove any "suspect foreign network equipment" from networks. The FCC originally estimated it would cost just under two-billion dollars to reimburse affected carriers for the equipment removal. It now says the total has gone up to five-point-six billion dollars after U.S. carriers began submitting applications for reimbursement.
