>>Jake Corman Staying in Race For Pennsylvania Governor

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pennsylvania State Senator Jake Corman is remaining as a candidate for governor after hinting earlier that he might pull out. The change of heart for Corman reportedly came after he spoke to former President Trump Tuesday, who encouraged him not to leave the race. Corman had finished fifth in a recent poll of nine Republican candidates.

>> Field Hockey Club Founder Wanted for Sexual Assault Still on the Run

(South Hanover Township, PA) -- The man who founded and ran East Coast Field Hockey for 40 years is still on the run after being charged in October with sexual assault. Police have been searching for William Gaudette, who is 77 since they tried to arrest him at his home and found him gone. A police affidavit says charges were brought against him after a 13-year-old girl said Gaudette had sexually assaulted her and continued to do so for over a year.

>>State House Passes Bill to Ban Transgender Athletes from Women's Sports

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A bill has passed the Pennsylvania State House that would not allow transgender athletes to compete in girls' and women's sports. The measure now goes to the state senate. Governor Tom Wolf has said he'll veto the bill if and when it makes it to his desk.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The house previously used for the lieutenant governor's home could become a veterans' outreach center. That's after a bill passed the state house Tuesday to find another use for the historic building north of Harrisburg at Fort Indiantown Gap. It is not currently used by current Lieutenant Governor Fetterman but reportedly would take about three-million-dollars to renovate it to make it accessible to people with disabilities. The bill now heads to the senate for consideration.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Pharmacists from all over Pennsylvania say they want the authority to continue to administer vaccines. That activity is set to expire at the end of June unless new legislation is written. On Tuesday, scores of pharmacists rallied at the state capitol to stress the need for them to continue the work. The CDC says, as of last week, more than 239 million doses have been administered by retail pharmacies across the country.  

>>Off Duty Officer Injured In I-81 Deadly Crash From Monday

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The person who crashed into the disabled box truck fatally injuring a man on Interstate-81 Monday was an off-duty East Pennsboro police officer. A Cumberland County spokesman confirmed the officer is on sick leave because of their injuries. One other person was also injured. The name of the person who died has not been released.

>>Man Shot During Carjacking Attempt In Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Police are asking for any tips from anyone who saw three suspects who shot at a man as they tried to hijack his car in Harrisburg. The shooters hit the man as he drove off in trying to get away from them. Police say he's still in the hospital in fair condition as of Tuesday. The incident happened a little after two a.m. near the intersection of Jefferson and Emerald Streets.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb says he's more "electable" than the other candidates for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. Speaking to the 'Erie Times,' the democrat insisted that there's no comparison, pointing to how he got elected three times in Republican Western Pennsylvania. He's also aligning himself in support of President Joe Biden and his policies. The primary is May 17th.

>> Harrisburg Senators Lose Home Opener

(City Island, PA) -- It's been a disappointing home opener for the Harrisburg Senators. The Portland Sea Dogs were able to get five runs scored and two RBIs to beat the home team seven to one Tuesday. The teams will play the second game of the series at noon Wednesday on City Island.

>>Hershey Bears Sign Western Michigan Stand Out For Rest Of Season

(Hershey, PA) -- The Hershey Bears have signed forward Ethen Frank to an American Hockey League contract for the 2022-23 season. The 24-year-old was the NCAA's top goal scorer this season, collecting 26 in 38 games for Western Michigan University. Frank also has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the Bears and is set to join the team for the remaining seven games of the 2021-22 season.

>>Court Affirms Life Sentence for Lancaster County Man

(Lancaster County , PA) -- The State Superior Court has upheld a life sentence issued to a Lancaster County man for his role in a deadly home invasion in 2016. The Lancaster County District Attorney's Office said this week the court found that Christopher Lyles had waived his right to challenge the evidence against him by not raising the claims previously. His defense team had challenged that there wasn't enough evidence. Lyles was sentenced two years ago to life in prison plus up to 40 years for his role in the killing of Dennis Pitch.  

>>New Program Provides for Striped Parking Places

(Reading, PA) -- Over 30 blocks of downtown Reading parking spots will soon sport stripes to mark their boundaries. City officials approved the idea Monday night to try to increase the number of parking spaces. They say they were getting too many complaints about drivers taking up two spaces or using the overage to save a space for another driver. The three-month pilot program will last through July.

>>Man Missing Since Tuesday Morning Found Safe

(Lancaster Co., PA) -- State authorities have cancelled their Missing Person Advisory after a 76-year-old man has been found safe. Police say John Gooding left his home in Manheim Township Tuesday morning but was found several hours later. He was located just before 5:00 p.m. according to state police.

>>Free 'Music Friday' Concerts Coming Back to Lancaster County

(Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster City officials say the summer tradition of free Music Fridays will return to the city soon. Put on by the local nonprofit group Music For Everyone, the events will take place on the third Friday of each month beginning May 20th and running through September. The Music Friday concerts, which are held in downtown's Binns Park and in rotating neighborhood parks, are free and open to the public.

>>Dutch Wonderland Goes Cashless

(Lancaster, PA) -- You can't use cash anymore at a favorite theme park in Lancaster. Beginning this Saturday, the Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park will only accept debit and credit cards and mobile payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you only have cash, you can still transfer to pay cards from kiosks located throughout the park. Company officials say going cashless helps to make the experience more safe and secure for guests and employees alike.

>>Easton Company that Makes MLB Jerseys Slamming to Keep on Track after Lockout

(Northampton County, PA) -- An Easton company that manufactures the jerseys for all 30 Major League Baseball Teams hopes to catch up on its orders soon. A company spokesman says the owner's lockout put Fanatics behind, but they still met the challenge to tailor and custom fit at least the home uniforms for all 2,200 players. The company is now working on the alternate uniforms, the ones the teams use when they're on the road. Full delivery is expected within the next couple of weeks.

>>Coroner Needs Public's Help in Locating Family Members

(Reading, PA) -- The Berks County Coroner's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a deceased man's family. David McCarthy was 65 and from Reading with a last known address on Tulpehocken Street. He was pronounced dead Tuesday at Reading Hospital. The coroner asks you to contact their office if you know this man's family.  

>>SEPTA Monitoring Transportation Platforms

(Philadelphia, PA) -- SEPTA is on high alert this morning following a mass shooting on a New York subway train. At least ten-people were shot when a gunman opened fire yesterday in Brooklyn. SEPTA officials feel there is no threat to the service here in the Philly area, but they are closely monitoring things. People are encouraged to call the police if they see anything suspicious.

>>NYC Shooting Suspect Linked To Philly

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Local police are a bit concerned after learning that a suspect in the New York City subway mass shooting is linked to the Philadelphia area. NYPD says that 62-year-old Frank James has an address in Philadelphia and another mid-west state. He's the person of interest in a shooting yesterday that left several people wounded and multiple shot. Authorities have reason to believe that the man purchased a U-Haul in Philly, which was recovered late yesterday. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw says her team is assisting in the investigation as the suspected shooter remains on the run.
