>>New Poll Shows David McCormick Ahead Of Dr. Oz

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A new Fox News Poll is showing that former hedge fund exec David McCormick is pulling ahead of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz. The poll found McCormick with 24 percent of the GOP primary vote compared to Oz's 15 percent for Pennsylvania's Senate primary. All other republican candidates polled in the single digits. The survey was conducted with nearly a thousand Pennsylvania Republicans responding.

>>COVID Cases 'Disproportionately' High in Perry County

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Though Perry County has the fewest amount of COVID cases, its death rate is unreasonably high. State health officials say there have been nearly 400 coronavirus-related deaths for every 100-thousand people in Perry County. That's about 20 percent more than the rest of the Harrisburg-Carlisle area since the pandemic started. 

>>Frontier Airlines Announces New Service to Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, PA) -- You'll soon have a new way to fly from Harrisburg to Denver. Frontier Airlines says it's expanding its routes from Harrisburg and other northeastern cities to its main hub in Denver, which will connect to other destinations. The non-stop flights are set to begin at the end of April.

 

>>State School Funding Case Wrapping Up 

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A case that deals with the way schools are funded in Pennsylvania may finally be wrapping up in Commonwealth Court. At issue is whether state spending for schools is adequate and equal for underprivileged students. The case was first filed almost seven years ago. Attorneys are expected to finish up the trial portion of the lawsuit on Thursday, but a final ruling isn't expected until at least summer.   

>>Two People Surrender In Swatara Township Shooting

(Harrisburg, PA) -- All three suspects in a Swatara Township shooting at the Roadhouse Café Sunday are now in custody. Police say Kajah George and Malik Hayden turned themselves in Wednesday. Officials believe they were involved in the shooting along with fellow suspect William Lynch, who was arrested Monday. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to be all right.

>>Second Suspect Arrested in Lower Paxton Shooting

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A second person has been arrested for a shooting that happened this past weekend. Police say Amanda Nicole Raber is accused of conspiring with Devon Siar, who was arrested hours after the incident. It happened at a hotel where the victim told police he and Siar got into a dispute over money and a cell phone. Victim Tony Arant suffered gunshot wounds to his chest, right wrist, and left leg. Siar told police he shot Arant and allegedly said that Raber was with him at the time it happened.

>>State Wrestling Championships Continue in Hershey

(Hershey, PA) -- More state wrestling championship action is coming to Hershey beginning Thursday. It'll be down to the preliminary bouts and then consolation rounds when PIAA Wrestling continues through Saturday at the Giant Center. Competitions will be held in both the 2A and 3A Classes throughout the day on Thursday.  

>>Woman Dies After Being Hit by a Car in East Petersburg

(Lancaster County, PA) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding whoever struck and killed a woman with their car. Shannon McCoy-Rooney was crossing Main Street in East Petersburg about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night when she was hit. The 29-year-old died at the hospital a short time later. Anyone who may have seen this incident or who knows anything about it should call police in East Hempfield Township.

>>Tower Health Updates its Mask-wearing Guidelines

(East Reading, PA) -- The Tower Health Network has changed its mask guidelines. Officials there said in a news release Wednesday that masks are still required at all facilities for staff and visitors, except under certain conditions or for patients under two. The group says it will continue to follow the CDC's guidelines and also says cloth masks will not be permitted. Instead, staff and patients should wear a procedure mask.

>>Woman, 1-Year-Old Daughter Missing

(Berks County, PA) -- Reading Police are looking for a missing woman and her daughter. Mary Elizabeth Caraballo, who is 33, and her one-year-old daughter were last seen late Wednesday morning near Spruce Street in Reading. Police call the two "at special risk of harm or injury" but haven't said anything further about how they went missing.  

>>Man Wanted for Lancaster Stabbing in Lancaster Arrested with Tipsters' Help

(Lancaster, PA) -- Officials are thanking tipsters who called in for their help in arresting a stabbing suspect. West Earl Township Police say Kaleb Carroll is accused of stabbing a man in the leg at a house party in Akron Borough in February. Carroll was arrested Wednesday after several people who were at the party reported him. He faces charges for assault as well for as reckless endangerment and was released on a 50-thousand-dollar bond. 

>>Phillies Replace Color Commentator with Four Former Players

(Philadelphia, PA) -- When the MLB lockout gets resolved, you'll soon be hearing new and different color commentators for the Philadelphia Phillies. The team has replaced Kevin Frandsen with four former players. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that Michael Bourn, Chad Durbin, Erik Kratz and Kevin Stocker will rotate alongside longtime play-by-play man Scott Franzke for road games in 2022. Larry Anderson will continue to provide color for all home games, once they resume.

 

>>U.S. Delegation From PA Visits Polish Border

(Undated) - Two lawmakers from Pennsylvania say they've been deeply touched by what they've observed at the Polish border with Ukraine. U.S. Representative Susan Wild, and Representative Brian Fitzpatrick have been part of a congressional delegation to the area to check out the situation first-hand. Representative Wild tells 'The Morning Call' it was an astonishing sight to see people welcoming total strangers. She also says everyone in the delegation now agrees that a relief passage is urgently needed to help the Ukrainian people.  

>>Pool Installer May Have Swindled Clients Out of More Than a Million Dollars

(Bethlehem, PA) -- A swimming pool installer from Bethlehem may have bilked customers out of more than a million dollars. The Northampton County D.A. says contractor Roger Kornfeind is accused of theft and receiving advance payment for work not performed for nearly 80 clients in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. More people have come forward to file charges after he was originally charged with similar crimes in January. Officials are still looking into what Kornfeind did with the money he allegedly stole.

>>Hatboro Officer Still Suffering After Near-Fatal Bee Sting

(Hatboro, PA) -- A Hatboro policeman is expected to go into hospice care soon after suffering a near-fatal bee sting. His family members say, though, he never had any kind of reaction before. Officer Ryan Allen has been dealing with the after-effects from the sting since October. Those include a heart attack and a brain injury. His wife says he now likely won't recover.

 

>>Museum Tosses Mask Policy

(Philadelphia, PA) -- Philadelphia's Please Touch Museum no longer is requiring guests to wear face masks. The museum joins the Franklin Institute and the Philadelphia Museum of Art in making masks optional. Officials say that frequent cleaning will continue on high-touch surfaces inside the facility. 

>>Simmons Returns to Philly

(Philadelphia, PA) -- All eyes will be on Philly tonight as Ben Simmons makes his well anticipated return to the Wells Fargo Center. It'll be his first appearance in the city since being traded away last month to the Brooklyn Nets. Simmons is not expected to play as he continues to recover from a back injury but he will be on the sidelines. Tipoff is all set for 7:30.
