>>City Issues Boil Water Directive For Some Residences In Southwest Lancaster

(Lancaster, PA) -- A water main break has forced Lancaster's Water Department to issue a boil water advisory for some residences in the southwest part of the city. It is in effect until further notice for residents of North Bausman Drive, as well as an address on Millersville Pike. The advisory states that the water system may be at an increased risk from microbial contamination due to a drop/loss of water pressure within parts of the distribution system. Customers living at addresses from numbers five to 38 of North Bausman Drive, as well as in the 17-hundred block of Millersville Pike, are urged to avoid drinking water without boiling it first. Affected residents may contact the Water Quality Laboratory for more information before 4:15 p.m. After hours, the emergency hotline will be available.
