(Harrisburg, PA) -- As he begins his last year in office, the tally for the number of bills that Governor Tom Wolf has vetoed is now more than 50. Legislative experts say that's a number that illustrates the institutionalized gridlock between the Democratic governor and the Republican-controlled General Assembly. They also say Wolf's veto tally will likely expand during his final 13 months in office. Republican legislators have increasingly turned to constitutional amendments to advance their priorities. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Republicans call Wolf's vetoes an attack on constitutional and civil rights while the governor's office says the General Assembly is failing Pennsylvanians.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- A native of Harrisburg has been named to the 2021 Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team. Donte Kent, a defensive back who plays for Central Michigan, was honored Monday by the organization. His last year at Harrisburg, he helped the Cougars to a 13 and two record, while maintaining a three-point three grade point average. Kent was named first team all-state as an athlete when he played for Coach Calvin Everett.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Central Dauphin School District will be returning to in-person learning today, but classes will begin two hours late because of lingering weather conditions. The schools had gone virtual last week and a few days before. Officials say it was out of an abundance of caution because of the spikes in COVID cases after the holidays in this part of Pennsylvania. Before the shutdown, officials say the high school had over one hundred and ten active COVID cases, with 41 of those people having been in the building.
>>Roller Skating Rink Owner Says He Will Re-Build After Fire
(York, PA) -- The owner of Mr. Q's Family Skate Center in West Manchester township says he will re-build after a huge fire at the facility Sunday night. Frank Quintin says people have been coming to the site since the fire to express what the skating rink meant to them and to share family memories. The center was a roller rink for five years and before that, it was a bowling alley built in the 50s. The fire is still under investigation, but state police investigators say they have not found anything criminal in nature initially. Quintin says insurance will cover some of the damage and friends in the community have also started a Go-Fund-Me page.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday night in Allison Hill. Witnesses say it happened just before 8:30 p.m. at Bill's Café in the 2,300 block of Derry Street. Officials have not released the name of the person who died yet. Police say they're going over surveillance tape and are grateful for any tips from patrons who may know what led up to the shooting. They currently have no suspects in the incident. (York County, PA) -- Governor Tom Wolf is announcing the expansion of a company that makes thermal solutions for commercial vehicles in York County. The governor announced late last week that Mobile Climate Control is consolidating its U.S. operations into a single, newly- constructed building in York County. The new 220-thousand-square-foot facility is being built at 400 South Salem Church Road in West Manchester Township. It will also serve as the company's U.S. headquarters. The expansion will be bringing 117 full-time jobs to the county over the next three years as well as retaining 48 current jobs. The company is consolidating its other locations from operations in Indiana, New York, and Pennsylvania.

(Lancaster, PA) - Fire officials say two people have been killed in a housefire that happened early Monday morning in Fulton Township. The fire broke out shortly after 3:30 a.m. in a home in the 100 block of Little Britain Church Road, which is just off Robert Fulton Highway. A man and woman, whose names have not been released, died in the fire in the two-story farm-house style home. A person walking by had called 9-11 after they saw flames shooting out of the windows. Fire officials say the house was fully engulfed by the time they arrived on scene.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The FDA is issuing a voluntary recall for more than 18-thousand bags of peppermint flavor baking chips sold at Walmarts nationwide. Over the weekend, the FDA recalled seven-ounce bags of Lily's Sweets Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips due to the presence of soy lecithin. Affected bags have an expiration date between January 24th and February 4th, 2022. Officials say those with a soy allergy or sensitivity to soy should not consume this product and will need to contact Lily's Sweets for a refund.

(Harrisburg, PA) -- For the first time since 1943, Pennsylvania has a new state record for a typical whitetail deer taken with a firearm. But as Lancaster Online reports, the "new" record buck was shot about 60 years ago. State records show a man who has since passed away shot the 14-point buck, which measured 202 7/8 inches in Montgomery County sometime in the 1960s. The rack changed hands several times over the years, but recently ended up in the possession of the Bass Pro Shops, who had it officially measured. The Pennsylvania Game Commission just recently certified the rack as the new state record. It tops a 189-inch buck that had stood as the state record since it was shot by Fritz Janowsky in Bradford County in 1943.
>>Lebanon Man Charged After Entering Business Completely Nude
(Lancaster County, PA) -- A 42-year-old man from Lebanon has been charged in an incident in December in which police say he exposed himself in front of many people at a local business. Horace Lee Samuels has been charged with indecent exposure after entering a Carmax at 1457 Manheim Pike completely nude on December 30th. Police say Samuels went inside the car dealership to have his vehicle appraised and test drive a new one. He then reportedly went back to his car and moments later showed up inside the business again, this time totally nude. Police say there were about 30 people at the Carmax at the time of the incident.

(Lycoming County, PA) -- Police say A 61-year-old woman and a 39-year-old-man have been cited for disorderly conduct and harassment after an argument at Sam's Club. It happened over the weekend at the location in Muncy Township. The disturbance reportedly arose in the parking lot over driving habits. The argument between the woman and the man, who are both from Williamsport continued into the store's entry way where one person shoved and spit on the other. That person struck back in retaliation, according to the police report.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The victims of the deadly Fairmount rowhouse fire have been laid to rest. Services were held yesterday to honor the lives of the nine-children and three-adults that didn't survive the blaze. It all happened back on January 5th and officials say the victims died of smoke inhalation. It is believed that someone accidentally lit a Christmas tree on fire which sparked the blaze.

(Lower Providence, PA) -- Authorities in Montgomery County have launched an investigation after someone was being tracked by another individual with their smart device. Investigators say that a person was being tracked by an Apple Air-Tag last Friday. The victim kept receiving notifications stating that an unknown accessory was detected, and their location could be seen by someone else. Later in the evening, the victim saw a suspicious vehicle sitting at outside of their home. The vehicle sped off when the victim tried to approach the suspect. Anyone with information surrounding this incident is being asked to contact the Lower Providence Township Police Department.
